My cockpit plotter lives alongside the helm housed in a Frigoboat sink. Don't laugh, it is an excellent fit although it does bear an uncanny resemblance to a sink.
It was a special without a drain.
Due to freak conditions, it filled with rainwater.
Removing it from its bespoke container, it discharged an impressive quantity of water.
Fearing the worst, I dismantled it to find a number of expected horrors inside.
After drying in sunlight, I reassembled it.
It worked!
There is a sight flicker in the display but it does goes through the motions of switch on. It has deposited a couple of components on the cabin floor.
I will contact Raymarine for their opinion. It is one I bought on eBay with a declared fault that Raymarine repaired for £30.
I was impressed.
We shall see.
