Anybody been successful with upgrading the software(4.25) on this unit? My download reads an error message. Raymarine says might be the card. Tried another with the same result.

I have had the same problem upgrading my C70 to 4.25 and this was using a card that I had used for previous upgrades !!

Previously, when I did the first upgrade I tried 6 cards before I found one that worked - and now this one doesnt I suppose I will have to try a few more ...

Raymarine recommend you use Sandisk CF cards. There's a good reason for this - the card timings are quite fast and predictable. My guess is that you are using a cheap CF card

You can buy Sandisk cards from many outlets including Jessops. You only need a small capacity card (probably the smallest available - 8MB is plenty) and then copy the files onto the root directory

Also, the card needs to be formatted FAT16. If you are using a card of 64MB or bigger the default format will be FAT32 which the C series cannot handle. You can reformat it from your PC but make sure you select the FAT file format, not FAT32

Once formatted, copy both the files (whatever.pkg and autorun.dob) to the root directory

The smallest available from Jessops is 250mb. I have been using two Nikon labelled (Manufactured by Scandisk) 16mb Have been able to extract Waypoints ok. When loadinging software get fatal error message line335 C80 locks up.

The earlier Sandisks had much slower access timings and I'm guessing your 16MB cards are of this generation. Try a 256MB card but make sure you format it first as described previously
