I am thinking of upgrading the Raymarine 435 plotter on my Ben343 to a C70 ..... somebody is selling one cheap!! But looking at the depth of the unit and the space available in the console, I have some doubts as to whether it will fit or not. The width and height should be OK but the depth is right on the mark from the drawings and in my experience when something is that close it generally gives problems (connectors, wires e.t.c. to be considered).

So, was wondering if anyone had already fitted one at the steering console??

I know I can fit one down below but I already have a PC down there, so there would not be much point. The reason I would like one at the console would be to have AIS there as well as on my PC ............ now if Raymarine would only update the 435 software to handle AIS as well I would be a happy bunny /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif .............. but there's not much chance of that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Thanks in advance,

Alan.

The C70 will fit with no problems also the C80 too, have B343 with Ray C70 at the helm on the steering console

Thanks a lot Franky and Chuzzlewhit, now I'll go and bargain with guy who is selling the C70; plead poverty and indecision if it will fit and hope to get it for 500 euros !!!!

Again, grazie.

Exactly the same situation on my Beneteau Oceanis 361. I kept the 435 at the cockpit table (as a back up - no point to sell it because will get nothing and will leave a big hole) and installed a C70 at the help right in front of me (I had to install of course a new "bracket" with the necessary box to attached the screen). Perfect place for chartplotter and radar.
500 euros????? Good deal. Don't tell me that this includes maps and radar?

Just remember not to expect to view the screen in winter 'cos of the condensation on the inside of the screen!

[/ QUOTE ] Not suffered this on the C70 yet, but I do get it on my B&G instruments. Leaving the display lighting on usually clears it eventually.
