I have a raymarine c140w plotter at the helm of my boat. I have just got a second one... as a backup really... and I thought i might wire it in at the chart table. I understand that I can connect them via sea talk ( as with all my other old raymarine kit) and set one as the master and one as a servant. I don't really know what this means? Can you see details of the charts for example shared between them or even see radar images shared when the radar is only connected to the upstairs one. If not then i will just run it as a standalone unit. Has anyone ever bothered to do this?
Cheers

Other more knowledgable people will be along shortly I am sure, and I am not familiar with the C series - but with the E90W the answer depended on the connections:
- using the extra SeaTalkHS (high speed) cable you should be able to share radar and chart data
- just using SeaTalkNG (NMEA2000) you can only share other data such as position, depth, route to waypoint etc.
To get the SeaTalkHS cable to work generally needs identical sofware versions on both.
Whether there are limitations on the C version I don’t know.
