Deeply unimpressed by the C series in general (the lappy plotter is way better to use) but in one respect I'm not sure whether mine is faulty or I am operating it wrongly.

The problem is with the "Go To" . I find I cant cancel it. If I press the "stop go to" soft key, it disappears for all of 5 secs and then returns exactly the same. Do I have to press it and then quickly press "enter" as well?

Sounds like something wrong. On our C series 'Stop go to' does just that.

I agree the user interface is laborious compared to others.

Could be a problem specific to yours, but make sure you have downloaded the updates from Raymarine's site. You should have v4.29.

Yes but is your laptop waterproof and sunlight viewable at the helm? Try disconnecting it from power overnight - this should cure this problem.

No cure but I think I have the answer. The plotter send the NMEA sentences to the non Raymarine autohelm which in turn sends back sentences to the plotter ie a loop. I'll have to disconnect something and see if the problem goes away.

I think the problem is caused if you turn the screen off when you are going to an active waypoint.

Have you tried to release the autopilot from the active WP by setting it in standby mode, before you turn off the goto function on your plotter?
