My bi data display suddenly went wrong this afternoon; it first started displaying stright lines instead of data abd after about 4-5 minutes went completely blank. the fuse is ok and the transducers have not been touched and look fine. has the display gone completely and is it poss ible to check it;many thanks in advance

Does the unit still beep when you power it up? If so, power, etc. is getting to it, and the electronics are working (maybe worth checking the voltage at the instrument, though). Transducers shouldn't make any difference.

It might be worth checking again in the morning as LCD displays do funny things when they get too hot (completely blank or completely black).

I have had similar issue on mine , I found I have to give the wires at the back a wiggle , or to do it properly remove them and clean up , then replace with a little contact spray
