Installing a new Axiom+. The power cable has + and - which is clear enough and will be connected to the old plotter’s + and -. However, there is a third wire, gray in colour. On the wiring diagram there is a ground/earth symbol for this wire. Where on the boat should this go? The previous plotter did not have this.
My boat has an anode which is connected to the propeller shaft via an electro eliminator. It is also connected to the mains supply via the consumer unit, galvanic isolator (assumption because the earth cable goes into the back of the box, where the galvanic isolator is also connected).

All the -ves are onto a common bus, which is then connected to the battery negative by a large cable.

The boat is from 1974, so doesn't have the button style connection in the hull, which IIRC from posts on here is an earth.

Advice appreciated as always.

Just an update. Both black and white wires on the Raymarine power cable were connected together and then wired into the black plotter power cable. Th red power cable was also connected with an in line 7.0A fuse. Plotter is working well. A piece of cake, as always read the manual, easily downloaded from Raymarine.

Connecting to the network was a piece of cake with the spur cable and backbone extension cable. The hardest part of the installation was removing the headlining to tie in to the existing power cable.
