Raymarine aps

I use the RayControl app with an E7 which comes with wifi

Don't use heavily (as have dedicated plots at helm and chart table), but handy for
- quick check on things without getting out of bunk
- using enhanced AIS data in cockpit in busy shipping lanes
- taking screenshots of memorable moments

Just added to android phone - for being very lazy and checking position vs rocks when reclining / snoozing in cockpit out of sight of main plotter. Not mission critical stuff - but fun

Thanks
Just downloaded the RayControl and had a play. As you say handy quick checks and works pretty well too.

I used to have a plotter in the cockpit and one at the chart table too. I now have a new C125 with wireless.

The cockpit plotter is at the side of the companionway.

Firstly, I now only have one plotter. At the chart table I have a Samsung 10" android tablet and use Ray Control to see the display of info and chart.

I have a Nexus 7" tablet in a Ram mount at the helm again with Ray Control. It is a neat way to adjust the zoom and position of the chart on the C125 without leaving the helm

When at anchor, I leave the plotter on all night with "tracks" turned on. If/when I wake up, I can check the boat's position on my ANdroid phone without getting out of bed!

Our Raymarine e7 is mounted at the nav station inside, which is an interior helm. Outside in the cockpit we use an iPad in a waterproof case mounted onto the binnacle running RayControl. It's worked for us for the last 3 years. It works reasonably well, but it's a little glitchy, and need to close and reopen the app sometimes.
(Though I have to say, if I get a bit of spending cash, I'm going to just get a proper plotter fitted to the binnacle, but that's just me.)

I'm just about to fit new electronics to my boat. At the moment i have a non-wifi Raymarine 12" touchscreen plotter at the chart table, but nothing at the helm. My plan is to pull the plotter out, sell it on ebay and then fit a new wifi 7 or 9" plotter to the helm and use a tablet at the chart table (which neatly circumvents issues with charging, waterproofing and daylight viewing of plotters outside).
