Can anyone explain what the difference is between these two? The Raymarine description of each seems to suggest they do pretty much the same thing but when I try to download Rayremote it reverts to raycontrol!
I know Ray"control" doesn't as it can't control the autopilot which is what I want it to do!
Does rayremote - or is the 'remote control of your MFD' just another Raymarine fib?
And why won't it download?

Is there a way to control an eS series autopilot via an app?

Sorry, can't answer the autohelm problem. Ours is B&G and cannot be controlled by the Raymarine MFD.
Rayview just mimics the screen which is a little help but not much. We use Raycontrol to mimic the whole MFD all of the time. Raycontrol allows pretty much full control, allowing you to do anything on a phone/tablet you can do on the MFD.
Both the devices I use can be a little flaky with the Raymarine apps. Sometimes when you turn on Raycontrol, you find you can't control the MFD as it's opened Rayview instead. I thought the apps were a bit of a gimmick when we first bought the MFD, now I wouldn't be without them.

It's the differeence between Control and Remote that I'm puzzled about. And why when I try to download Remote it reverts to Control.
Has Remote been cancelled perhaps?

I want to control the autohelm from below in times of low vis when the nav/skipper is at the chart table with only a lookout on deck.

RayView mirrors the MFD, but you can't control anything with the app'

Ray Remote is kind of like a TV remote for the MFD, bit crap as you can't see what you're actually doing.

Ray Control mirrors the MFD and allows you to control it.

What auto pilot do you have ?

As I understand it in the UK the app will not actually control the autopilot - it says it will, I have tried, various marine engineers and boat builders I know have tried, the bulk of the cruising forum have tried and it will not allow remote control of the autopilot even though Raymarine say it will. I did read it had been disabled for the UK (maybe EU not sure) for liability reasons which is why the only people you will find who have made it work are US - I cannot guarantee that is true though.
