Raymarine 54e vhf, can i connect to my trackfish 6500 to get GPS informtion???

I'm trying to connect my vhf to my trackfish 6500 to get gps information but no matter what i do the vhf still says "no gps"

any help and advice much appreciated

Tried reading the manuals?

Both have nice diagrams of which wire is which. You want to connect the white core from the Navman's power/data cable to the yellow core on the radio, and the black core on the Navman to the green one on the radio.

On the Navman, according to its book, you also need to go to the setup menu, then "Comms", then tick the NMEA box. You may possibly also need to go into the NMEA sub-menu and make sure that the sentences the VHF needs are turned on (might as well just turn them all on).
