Morning all.
Thinking of crossing Buxey Sand just west of the Buxey North Cardinal- is that foolish? My rather old chart is saying the sands there dry to nothing over +1.5 ish, so I'm thinking my 1.8 draft will creep over safely with 4m of tide... on a flood, but then again....
Any words of wisdom?
Thanks!
Crisp

See: Downloads Scroll down for the 2020 Ray Sand chartlet. Gladys and I redid the area last September and the chartlet didn't need updating. The PLA have done a survey in line with the Ray Sand buoys and again, nothing significant seemed to have change. Best drop straight down the 001 degree meridian for the 'best water' (aka flattest sand).

Ah. Just thought. You said your chart is old. Please note there is a dangerous 'obstn' on the corner of the Saint Peter's Flats. It was reported first in week 35 of 2019 and is now marked on charts. Don't cut the corner turning south and stay clear of 51° 44´·19N., 0° 59´·16E. E.G. wait until the 001 degree E meridian and then head due south until reaching the Outer Crouch.
