Ray Autopilot & Garmin Plotter - AP goes nuts following route.

Hello,

Friend has a Garmin GPSMAP3010c hooked up to a Raymarine S1 Wheel Pilot.

If a route with multiple waypoints is navigated to on the Garmin and then the autopilot is put in track mode the AP goes nuts requesting acknowledgement of course changes every 2 seconds.

If a single waypoint is put into the Garmin then AP can nav to the waypoint no problem but not a route or trackback.

We were doing a night passage so didn't have time to "play"

Anyone any ideas why the AP can't follow a route wihtout screaming its head off?

Have you looked at the Comms Port setting on your Garmin? Is it set to high speed or Normal NMEA? I seem to remember a similiar problem. Sorry can't be more helpful.
