Hi, this is my first post, I have a deep Seadog with a jonson pump and I'm not certain I have reassembled it correctly, found it very difficult to access schematic drawings or cross-section, I wonder if anyone could offer any advice please, the pump is a jonson F5b 9002, it had a black plastic spider like separator inside which I'm not sure how to reinstall, it also has a brass mating ring that I presume is to mate with the engine (perkins 4108) side, which has a champferred or machined side and a flat side, I don't know which side should go into the engine, any advice gratefully received, Thank you

Thank you Scottie, I found that one on lineand had perkins send a paper one thinking it would be more informative, but alas didnt answer my questions, my problem is, when I took it apart it had a legged plastic spacer or separator between the seals oil and water, it doesn't appear in this drawing, but a 'washer' does, I wanted to put it back as I had found it but can't find a reference to these three legged plastic seperator or spacer anywhere and can't find a picture even on line, the other problem is the bronze seal guide that goes over the spline, and on top of the bearings, engine side of the pump body, this mate's with the engine adapter or backing plate, one end is chamfered down and the other is sheer, its not clear from the drawing which side goes into the pump body and which to face the engine, I'm still looking for a definitive answer and can't seem to get anyone, even at perkins or Johnson that can enlighten me, any advice gratefully received, thank you for taking the trouble

I think that item 3 is what you are calling the seal guide and it looks like the chamfered side is to the engine side which would make sense and the plastic spider is only a distance piece which is an alternative to the rubber o ring thrower to stop any leakage along the shaft
You may be missing some readers? By posting on the wooden boat forum which may be to specific

Thanks again, very kind of you to look into it, I have ordered the seals, slinger and o ring from Perkins, but of course this pump is probably not the origional, (I rushed in) so I have spoken to them about comparing them when they arrive and sending them back, now I will have to go to Johnson and order them from there, thanks again and again
