You probably don't need to ask why I am looking....but does anyone have experience of retro-fittable raw water flow alarms???

I am looking already at Aqualarm's units but any experience of these or others would be useful. Engine is a Volvo V6 petrol but the pump intake water comes via a 2" hose from the leg so any unit will go into that line.

PBO have done an article on a DIY system using a cheap off the shelf flow meter from RS or Farnell. It fits in the inlet pip before the Jabsco pump and warns you as soon as the flow stops - looks cheap & easy - if you want details pm me and I can send it to you. Just reread your post - I don't think it will cope witha 2" diameter hose though - does it really take that sort of water flow?
