having raw water cooled engines volvo 3.0GL petrol, should you flush them after each use, once or twice a season or just when taken out of water for winter.

Well if it is convenient to do so, do so.
If you are on a Mooring or in a Marina, well just do it when you lift for a bum scrub.
Do it as often as you can imho.
