That gust just after 7-00 which was over 50kts was pretty wild here in the cottage. I thought the roof was coming off!

It is a miracle that we haven't lost our electric, we often do in gales.

A big surge again as well, but fortunately on top of a neap tide though.

PS I am going over to the club at lunchtime, so will have a look at your boat. I expect Geoff will be there checking things anyway.

Thank you for that very kind offer, unfortunately the boat is at Suffolk Yacht Harbour at the moment awaiting it's winter haul out. Looking at the information from SYH weather station the wind will have been pretty much on the nose so hopefully no harm done.

The water was about 4 inchs over the wood near "Geoff's hut" last night when I popped down to the marina. Very high considering it was neaps. Trying to climb around on the bridge with laptop in other hand made it interesting!

The HHA site showed a surge of about 1.4m at HW, just as well it wasn't springs.

Just been down to RHYC... found one boat had a snapped guard rail = no fenders and one bow line had snapped.

Our boat.... this.... Who is best to repair this?!?

Ouch! I had thought there was enough South in the wind direction for the RH marina to have been better sheltered.

Fox's would be my best bet for boat repairs.

Do you know if the other owner has been informed about the damage?

It wasn't only windy with you but I gather from a friend that an Elan 35 near the chandlers at Tollesbury blew over. It is hard to imagine that the damage was other than terminal. My friend's boat was nearby but undamaged, though I gather that it moved a bit.
