I have inherited one of the above toilets in the boat I recently bought. Just filled up the water tank and everything is working great-shower, taps calorifier, but I cannot get any water to flush the toilet. I checked the seacocks and believe these to be open. Does anyone have any experience of these toilets and found the same problem? There is a push'pull piston handle which I assumed would create some sort of vaccuum to suck the water in. Is this correct and could that be the problem? Anyhelp would be appreciated as I feel a (mental) blockage!!.

As well as the big push-pull handle, there should be a smaller lever on the pump body which selects between "drain" and "flush" - is this in the wrong position/ busted??

Worst case, repair kits are readily available for the RM69.

Thanks-I have found the littlehandle and it seems to rock back and forth OK but don't know if it is doing anything. But please forgive my complete ignorance about these toilets-do they acquire their water from the water tank or from the sea? I have two holes below the sealine-one which is definitely the outlet and the other is smaller and very slightly higher. The boat is on the hard at present.

On the hard explains your problem. The RM69 is usually rigged to flush with sea water and of course you are just pumping air right now. Try it again when you are on the water. I have 2 of these on mine and find them pretty bomb proof.

Do I feel a right wally or what!!!! Thanks guys- even SWMBO said it might be that and she knows even less than I do (maybe she is reading up on the quiet before our first venture out!!). Well, maybe by next season I will pass my novice exams........ Thanks again
