Raphaëla Le Gouvello has just crossed the Pacific unaccompanied on a windsurfer.

Alright it is 25' long and you can lie down inside it - apparently there is just over a a foot of headroom.... You still have to stand on it and hold the sail aided by a harness. She left on Aug 5 and reached Tahiti at the weekend a distance of over 5000 miles.

Isn't this a fantastic feat?

Credit where credit is due.

It certainly is an amazing feat, but 'crossing the Pacific"...? Tahiti was in the middle last time I looked!

C'mon; a transatlantic is often considered to be Canaries to the Caribbean. The Trans Pacific Yacht Race is only from Los Angeles to Honolulu. Less than half her crossing.

A little largesse please.

I understand in her case that she intends to do Australia as a second hop.
