No wonder with the excellent weather it was. Can any of you spot your boat

I think I counted 18 boats. No way I could get them all in shot. We were still able to pick up a buoy however

What a glorious place! Not been there since the early 90s..... Who maintains the buoys and is there an overnight charge?

I think the buoys are just peoples moorings so pick one up and leave if they turn up. Most people Anchor there as it is very sheltered and there is no charge

Who needs jetskis when there is a bloody drone doing the same job of irritating the hell out of everyone?

Don't you just know there would be some grumpy old git saying something like that. The drone was in the air for no more than 4 minutes so some one would have to have a very low tolerance for irritation. The drone is also one of the smallest and quietest there is. Tell me is there anything you ever do that might irritate anyone. Think hard before you answer to let your brain work before you spout off more nonsense.

Perhaps we should ban drones and along with them every other hobby that anyone else finds annoying....... That equals no hobbies for anyone

It is excellent that in this country people can ignore idiots who make the sort of comment you did

Only ever look down on a person when you are bending over to help them up.
I take it you exempt your drone from that little bit of piety?

Trouble is, just like jetskis, once one person starts the habit more are likely to join in and they are likely not to have such a perfect drone or such perfect drone-manners as you. Quite apart from the aspect of everyone else there feeling overlooked or spied upon and the complete inappropriateness of such a device in a quiet, scenic anchorage. I wouldn't mind betting 75% of the other boats that noticed it thought the same.

Just saying

But thanks for your incisive observations against my defence of everyone's privacy, peace and quiet.

What survey of people did you undertake to make such statements using words such as Everyone. Also Your assertion that if one person does it then others will follow is total uneducated tosh.

You did not mention what it is that you do that might annoy others. Did you have a little think on that one at all

Im sure drones make good skeet targets

I wonder how many would want to blow your drone out of the sky if you had a great overhead shot or footage of there boat?? I suspect you'll get requests for the pictures/footage from the aggrieved.
Great shots BTW.

Oops. Sorry.
I don't call other people uneducated just because I feel they've criticised me.
I don't regard other's opinions as "tosh" because I don't happen to share them.
I don't make snarky ripostes about being on telly when someone makes a joke the offends my over-sensitive sensibilities
I don't do over sensitive sensibilities.
Or childish demands to provide statistics to back up a generalisation.
At anchor I don't do jetskis.
Or drones.
Or loud music.
Or shouting into a mobile on deck.
Or, frankly, anything that would my presence more obvious than a quiet moored boat needs to be.

Irritating bastard to have in an anchorage I must be, studiously avoiding giving offense to anyone. Like most sailors (should I provide stats to support that?) I sail for the peace and quiet and detatchment from the noisy industrial world.

Sorry if that annoys you, though it seems hard not to ;)

Sorry if that annoys you, you do seem very easily annoyed. ;)

Sounds to me like you are waiting for death. All very tranquil and quiet then. In the meantime why don't you live a little

This happens quite a lot with several people I know who have drones and we happily email the pics etc to them
