Anyone know if there is a grid or other suitable ground for alongside berth for a fin keel in the inner harbour?
Cheers
Andy

there wasn't a grid last time I looked, but the ground is fairly level ish. given that it was this time last year i was there.
going in about a month, if you can wait that long. know I can't

Ramsey does'nt have a drying grid but you can dry out along side the wall at the top of the North pier which is fairly hard sand. Douglas inner harbour does have one, but depending on your draft can only be accessed on fairly high tides. Castletown also has one but I am not to sure on the accessibility of it. If you want to use either of the other two options drop me a P.M. and we can have a chat. (I am live in Douglas)

Ramsey is fine for drying out - no grid but as already mentioned the sand is hard enough and level.
If you are coming from Conwy there is always Port St Mary where you don't need to dry out and can access at all times - alonside the breakwater/pier - nice sheltered corner.

Cheers for info guys. I will be visiting Pt St Mary & Douglas but have never been into Ramsay so thought I'd take a look. Sounds good.

FWIW, been into Ramsay and there is a grid, well into inner harbour on S side. Bad news is it needs booking in advance and costs £14, nearly twice nomal berthing charge, although good value by the standards of most mainland harbours. Also V. impressed with Peel's new inner harbour sill. Isle of Man is certainly pulling out the stops for yotties.
