OK Guyz. What about a rally here this summer? If ppl want to leave their boats for the week and do the return journey the following week, not a problem. Similarly if some want to get here the week before than that too aint a problem.
I also have excellent launch facilties and can store trailers too.

If you like the idea we need someone to organise it. Only problem is the dates must be worked out in advance so there is no conflict with Clubs already booked in.

Hi Byron

Would love to....takes us approx 3 days travelling 5/6 hours a day I think so for us would need to be during a wee holiday.

If we can get a consensus on dates I am happy to help organise.

Nick

Sounds fun if the invitation extends to noobs /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Where's Ashmount? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

It sounds like a great idea - and hopefully will have time for that cup of tea before hand!

Probably best just to set a date and let those who can make it plan around that?

Your dates are probably the busiest so if the suit you they will suit everyone.... You go ahead and make the arrangements. I need the dates ASAP to book them in.
For those that don't know Ashmount House is located about one mile above Cleve Lock on the Starboard hand almost opposite the Beetle & Wedge Restaurant.

Just multimapped it, and looks good to me!

1 day from Reading at a push, or 2 days with a lunchtime stopover at the Swan at Pangbourne..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It is a mere 2½ hour run from T&K and only 4½ - 5 hours from Henley.

Hmmmm....it takes two and a half drom T&K to the Swan....this place looks twice the distance on MM /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Sounds fine anyway.... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I always find that time is a bit of an illusion on the river, but T&K to Ashmount is easily done in a day.

We were one of a number of boats (well two actually) which enjoyed Byron's hospitality a couple of years ago and I would highly recommend the trip.

Best to grab a date when Byron can fit us in and then see who can make it. I certainly hope that we can, and many thanks to Byron for the offer.

Well, some river users are very laid back. We're usually in Oxford (super inexpensive make your own "Chinese" lunch in SoJo) in that time and we're /12 day downstream of the Caravan Park people.

Byron, are all (regular) forum members welcome? You usually shout at us when we pass by...

EVERYBODY! even bring a friend and their boat, the more the merrier.

Really looking forward to meeting some of the Thames chappies and chappesses socially rather than just in locks.

2007 was my first year back on the Thames for about a decade, and I've really missed it.

This is a great plan.
