How simply stunning!
The physics of rainbows are wonderful (if you like that type of thing!) but what you can always know is whether you are looking at the inner or outer bow.
The area between the two is always darker than outside the outer, and the area inside the inner is always brighter.

These were taken last year on the Caledonian. Sent to me by a passer by. I assume they are not photoshopped as we can be seen taking photos as well.
