thanks, I saw that one earlier, but I don't see how I would fix the GPS to it. there is no where on the flybridge to put it where I could reach, so the rail seems a good idea

I assumed you would do a bit of bespokery (drilling and bolting, or whatever) to attach the GPS's OE cradle to this tube clamp. I'm not aware of anything that will solve your problem in one go, without the bespokery bit I mean

good try, wanna buy the harley?
I'm gonna try the sea screw method, but the rail slopes so using 2 mounts, though safer will look daft, we'll see, thanks guys

Get some nice bits of teak offcuts and put brain into gear and MAKE one.........now theres a novel idea.......and you'll feel sooooooo proud of yourself afterwards.

Phil,
You could try a fishing rod holder clamp assembly available at any sea fishing place. Usually black plastic and larger than your average S/S clamp unit.
Easy to drill to fit the garmin to and cheap enough not to mind if you bugger it up.

I have already built the boat, assembled the engines, invented all new electonics, held back the tide and painted the marina. I thought I would go for a custom made clamp to finish it all off.
