I needed to make up a couple of new seats for a rib, I found some marine ply offcuts big enough, found some screws. found a tin of pre-kote with a bit in, found some danboline dregs that just about did it. Raided the loft, found some old cushions that brought forth the foam, found an offcut of material. Half a can of contact adhesive assembled the seats, rooted out my staple gun and some stainless staples.

One pair rib seats made for nothing, very satisfying!

Is it normal to have this much boat crap lying around?

You’ve either got a huge house or a short, kleptomaniac memory.

I have inherited from my late father the habit of hoarding an increasing quantity of junk in order to be able to improvise solutions to most problems. Indeed some of the stuff actually belonged to my father. My wife thinks the hoarding is the biggest problem?
