Hi,

I have just removed my windows on my boat.
They "clamp" into GRP with these bolts: -

I cant find anyone who sells them.

They have one rounded head screw for the outside of the window, and one flat screw for the inside. Of which the flat one screws into the rounded one. Well u can see above!
This could be a bit of a problem as i can't work out how to get my windows on, as the old bolts have had it.

I dont know, but what do you call these?
I might have to make some phone calls and don't know how to explain, what are they called? or have any of you seen them for sale anywhere?

I am going to try acorn fasteners on monday, but how do i explain? our do u know where else i cant get them?

Thanks for your help.

I have a feeling the same bolts may be used on Westerly's, so it may be worth contacting Trafalgar Yacht Services who do spares for them. They advertise in PBO and tel no is 01329-822445 for the chandlery.

I may be entirely wrong, but I think they're called 'interscrews'. Last time I needed some I just happened to find a local chandler who had a supply in exactly the right size, bet I couldn't do it again though.

Re: 75p each, here...

I have just replaced four windows in my boat, which has anodised windows, using Interscrews.
Mine (French) were 4 mm, but the replacements were of a slightly larger type and use 5mm screws...
Where did I get them - at my local chandlers in Gosport, who quoted a week to get hold of them , and actually took 3 days - 54p each stainless not aluminium like the originals..
There is also a distributor in Hedge End , Soton

when i refitted my Contessa windows /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif some years ago found thet various lenghts req.
u may have to start with a long one & then remove & insert a shorted one, all to do with GRP thickness & shape of coach roof ( if windows r bent to fit boat shape)
get some spares
