Having taken in all the wonderful advice from my Liverpool vs. Fleetwood thread, and factored in my own personal needs, I'm moving the boat I've just aquired from Liverpool to Fleetwood.

I expect to take possession this weekend, and hope to move the boat in the next 2 - 3 weeks. I don't believe that I'm competent to skipper the trip - most of my experience has been on Windermere, I don't know the Liverpool / Mersey channel, I don't know the Fleetwood approach, in theory I could move an unknown boat between the two but I'm not daft enough to try.

Therefore I'm looking for a volunteer skipper who knows both L'pool and Fleetwood and who would like the opportunity of a winter sail (their boat being out of the water or whatever). I guess we can do the journey on one tide out & in. The boat is a 28' lift-keel cruiser/racer (emphasis on the cruiser) with a good engine, current IRC certificate and used for racing out of Liverpool. She is in good condition. I will crew, I have a volunteer for a third crew member.

If a forumite would like to volunteer as skipper for the fun of it and has the experience required (and the referees on here to back them up!) please PM / e-mail me, otherwise I know a YM Instructor in the area who I can hire. If I get a suitable volunteer I will of course cover expenses.

And just to make clear, I do mean skipper, I may own the boat but I will just be crew hoping to learn from the experience.

Cheers,

Steve

Hi
See the folks at Liverpool Yacht Club in the marina, someone there could assist. If you're stuck, get back in touch as I know this coast pretty well.

Try asking for Ken Walsh who lives aboard in the Coburg side of the dock. Very experienced professional sailor and a nice bloke. I will try to get a phone no if you are interested. By the way, which boat have you bought. Pacesetter by any chance?
