Sunday, boat in Solent, which shall remain nameless, called another station every minite or two for a couple of hours...
(Unknown Station) "why don't you give it a rest, mate?"
(Solent CG) "Repeated transmissions on channel 16, are an offence...."

Nice to see Solent CG taking a firm line with this character.

He was so annoying that I seriously considered turning the set off, I am sure a number of people did so.

This was even worse than the repeated radio checks.

maybe if you did name them and they are on the forum it may stop it happening again.

Even if they are not on here am sure someone who is will know them!

Regards

I'm surprised at you! Even though it's tempting to name and shame, anyone with a radio licence should know that transmissions cannot be disclosed and should be kept confidential...

Agreed it's very annoying all the same.

I suspect that even disclosing the subject matter may technically be a breach of the rules (which is why I didn't name the station) but I am claiming a public interest defence...

Anyway everyone in the Solent and beyond on Sunday now knows who he is, and someone has probably already had a word.

Spoke to Chris your engineer this morning, very helpful with my SSB problem, am working on it.

Got through on your technical number straight away and got a very polite gent who took my number, Chris phoned back five minutes later.
Bl**dy good service and thanks for no music on hold or press 1 for etc,,,,,

Small world. nice to talk to you..
Anyway chris has given me a couple of pointers, I'll let you know.
I fear the ATU or it's connections are fed up and sulking from being left in a damp aft locker.
