I know there are a number of radio amateurs among European (and other) forum members and wonder if any would like to try having a chat on radio from their home stations when I am /MM this New Zealand summer - probably first short cruise will be straight after New Year to Northern parts of South Island including Ship Cove, Captain Cook's favourite New Zealand refuge.

Am getting in early asking this as I have to be o'seas for some part of December, workwise.

Conditions being ok I can normally work European stations from the boat, but likely you will need a gain antenna your end (but not necessarily, and not for 40m) and any HF band or 40m. You should know if you have a station capable of working ZL/VK area. If desired I should be able to organise PSK31/RTTY/Pactor as well as SSB - perhaps SSTV if anyone wants to get me really motivated but that would be a big experiment on my part!

I have email on the boat so there will not be any need to persevere uselessly day in day out for the hope of a radio contact if things are not working out at the time.

If interested let me know on this thread or PM me (or email at address as for ZL4AJ on QRZ and Buckmaster callsign servers if not a registered user of this forum but are interested).
