Hmm - hope nobody misinterprets that title !

I'm about to attempt to fit a secondhand one of these to a
110S saildrive.

All seems fairly straightforward from the details I have and ambassador marine were helpful with advice.

They did however say I would need to replace my existing castellated nut + split pin which holds the prop on with a radice nut - costing £37.30 + VAT

Can anyone tell me what it is and whats so special about it to cost £37.30 - or is it just a case of small volumes /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Thanks
James

Hi James
My 102 S/D had an Ambassador stripper, the back plate of whjich was fitted into slots cut into the anode and the front cutting plate held by the prop with two small pins sunk into the back of the prop. There was no need to change the original securing system whatsoever.

do you have a folding or fixed prop

the folding prop usually has the nut you discribe whilst the fixed has a cone nut see other thread re removal of prop

the castellated nut is not considered as secure as the the cone nut but takes upless room and can fit in the boss of a folding prop
