Press release:

We recently informed you that the Royal National Lifeboat Institution has chosen the new Echomax Midi basemount reflector to fit on to their fleet of 400 RIBS.

During sea trials they recorded from a ship based radar 100% paints at 3.8 miles and 80% paints at 5 miles plus in sea state fair. The unit was mounted at only two metres above sea level. The unit was also subjected to capsize and strength tests off the Needles.

The Echomax Midi is a two stack array in a rotationally moulded polyethylene case is just 432mm high and weighs just over two kilo and peaks at 20M2. Echomax radar reflectors are based on Patented design by the late John Firths. Leading RIB manufacturers have also taken stock on this model and the larger three stack EM230 which has recently obtained Ships Wheel Mark.
