Radar pole

I want to mount a radome on a pole on the afterdeck. Does anyone know of a fabricator in the Portsmouth area that will make these to spec? Preferably one that has experience and knows the stresses etc. (Scanstrut are about £300)! Another couple of questions; 1, Can I use aluminium. or is there some reason why not? 2, Which side preferable - starboard?

Very grateful for any help on these.

We've just had one made by Portchester Engineering, 19 Windmill Grove Portchester 92374771. We were very happy with their service.
