Racor filter question

I have Racor 110a filters. The ones with the spin on metal bowl.

I would like to change just the bowl section to something see-through. I do not want to change the top as that would involve a lot of new pipework.

Is such a thing available? Mr Google has not helped me thus far.

It can be done. ASAP Supplies sell all the bits. I did this with mine, but had to change it back again for the BSS

I bought a replacement bowl from them a couple of weeks ago. Can't recall the regulations but I think the obvious concern is that a plastic bow will melt in a fire and add fuel to the flames

How do motorboats get away with this. I have seen massive see through filters in their engine rooms.

What about CAV?

I'm sure they will, but I would think that a metal bowl would give you a bit more time before it fails and the diesel starts pouring out ( assuming you have not been able to reach the shut off)

What about CAV?

Some see through filters are acceptable, ie those with the metal heat deflector.
The rest are probably on boats that don't need a BSS, ie boats that are at sea and not on the inland waterways.
