I want to replace the racor drain taps on 900 FG ,s
I have never really had much luck in the past with these -either stuck or if platic chewed thread .
Looking @ racor catalogue .
Seems to be 3 types

Metal " plug bowl kit " it's a small bolt in the larger fitting ( think I have this )

Black plastic " drain tap " with a nipple to undo in as plastic ( I chewed these up on previous boat )

" brass shut off valve " looks like and old fashioned gas tap from school lab -also has a brass bung /bolt .

My Q to the forum -which one would you reccomend ?

I have the metal bowl version with a hex head bolt. After a few years chewing this up with a spanner used blind and at arms length I ordered a replacement off t'internet with a hex socket head - I assume it's luck but I now use my small ratchet socket set driver directly on the drain plug which works a treat. Still have to master holding a shallow receptacle under it while loosening the bolt without dropping either the bolt, driver or spreading fuel everywhere.
