We all moan a bit about Auntie RYA so here's a positive. The latest R Y A navigation manual is one of the best text books I've read - its well written, comprehensive (no astro but all you need for coastal work), well illustrated and at least as readable as the serious press. Even has a useful bit on NMEA and interfacing. All in all, an excellent effort. I happily recommend it to DS and YM students.
