It is a passenger Ferry.
I have been and seen it!
http://www.grimaldi-ferries.com/en/prenota-online.html

You can book it on line, I may use it next week, If you are driving through France the distance is similar to using the Patra/Venice ferry, but cheaper. certainly shorter than Ancona.

By the way, it stops at Igo, but stops at the South port at Patra, Not North port.

About the estimate: •The amount includes the fixed dues of 25€ per passenger and leg (€ 20 for the lines from Ravenna), € 5 fuel surcharge for Greece, and fixed dues for accompanied vehicles if required.
•The system calculates the estimate on the basis of full tariffs, special tariffs and promotional car tariffs when available.
•As the estimate is in real time, special tariffs refer only to their momentary availability.
•During the purchase, the system will automatically choose the special fare if available at the moment.

Just an example to show that it can be booked!

Yes,good to see an alternative to the Superfast/ Minoan ferries from Patras .
BUT ....
I did a quote for 2x peeps plus 1x car , return and it came to 372 e from Igoumenitsa to Ravenna

we are in mainland Europe now having paid 397 e return from Patras to Ancona & back ,
which puts us much farther north than Ravenna
so Grimaldi have not done their homework on the competition !

Sorry, I don't follow your logic, Ravenna is farther North than Ancona, it is near Venice.

Sorry Davy S ,you are right , it is further North so it does stand comparison with the existing Greek ferry companies
still only 25 e cheaper though , but that is 17.23 litres of diesel .....

Just booked this ferry, considerably cheaper than Ancona - Igu in March, as well as slightly less distance from UK. Thanks for the heads-up, Steve/Davy.

We did Patras to Trieste with Minoan (Grimaldi Lines) driving through Slovenia Austria Germany and so on. It was the same price as Ancona and we think an easier drive, a tad less on distance and time. No Italian stalions driving like loons, fuel cheaper enroute as so the tolls or to be more correct the lack of them. Also for this time of year the Alps crossing is at a lower altitude with winter roads and services just as good as Switzerland or elsewhere.
