Hi, any advice on the best/ quietest day to sail to Fiskardo at the end of September if we want to berth in the harbour. / is there a standard milk run day to avoid. Thanks.

Most of the flotilla change over days are Saturday, so I would go for that.

In Fiskardo there is no guarantee.

Any particular reason to visit Fiskardo?
It may be scenic but imho it's an overly touristy and pretentiously expensive place, quite unlike so many other alternatives in the area.
If you enjoy basking in the reflected glare and blare of vast, bad-taste superyachts and obnoxious loud Russian squillionaires it's the place for you.
If you're looking for anything approaching an authentic Greek Islands experience maybe not.

Watch out for a waiter saying, please try this cake my mother made, then charging you 7 euro each for it! if you must eat there, then go around the back streets and find a cheaper place, Fiskardo wins the rip off a punter award every year! at least make sure you check the menu prices before you order.

We searched the entire place last year and found nowhere at all where locals might eat - our criterion for getting decent food at decent prices.
Everywhere was expensive and poor.

I agree with everything Slowboat says. Except he/she forgot to mention the very loud disco music that goes on until the early hours of the morning.

If you want to see examples of pre 1953 earthquake ( and older ) architecture in the area try Kioni on Ithaca. Same rule applies to getting in early if
you want a berth on the town quay but less of a pretentious atmosphere.

If you're still hell bent on Fiskardo monitor these webcams. They will give you an idea on how absolutely rammed Fiskcardo gets although at the end
of September it should have eased off a bit. The Ionian season is slowly getting extended so no guarantee.

This shows the north shore which should be avoided if there's any major south in the wind. On some days boats are fender to fender all along the shore.

They also have another cam that shows the harbour wall.

The weekends are definitely the quieter times and the webcams are very helpful on the way to see how bad it is. We seem to find ourselves there every year, quite often in August and often stay for 5 or 6 days generally longlined to the north shore or sometimes anchored just outside in 10 to 12m under the bar/taverna Panormos.
Yes it does get a bit mad there sometimes but that’s one of the reasons we visit and the Lord Falcon Thai restaurant is very good if you can get in.

I confesss it has never occcurred to me to eat Thai food in Greece!
Ha, yes I was exactly the same for all of the years chartering for 2 weeks at a time but after living aboard our own boat the first year we managed about 2 months before craving something non Greek!
The 2 Thai ladies in the kitchen are married to local Greeks and their food is very good but like most things in Fiskardo not particularly cheap but worth it for an occasional treat.

Arrived 15:30 today and found a spot on the North shore at the end of the road. A bit tighter than I'd like but a few meters either side. 3 or 4 flotilas in. Only came as we have a visiting family spending 3 nights ashore here. Enjoyed a swim in Megannisi channel cove then an easy sail over from Nidri. Guests much preferred the sail than catching the ferry.
