Quick secure-and release for rope round mast

I have a mast track slider secured with a rope round the mast, in order to stop the sliders attached to the sail from falling out of the bottom of the track. Rather than tie it, I'm looking for some sort of attachment to allow me to pull the rope tight in a locking position, that will also allow a quick release should I wish to drop out that last couple of slider to allow reefing, for example.


Actually, as I write, I'm thinking of the straps of my cycling backpack - the sort of buckle that you pull the strap through to tighten and then lever away to release....

Perhaps even better than Clamcleats, and cheaper, are Velcro cable ties.... in a suitable length.
