I have Honda 2hp motor. I switch it from outboard well to cockpit rail frequently . When sailing longer distances nice to lift to rail and when I leave boat out of water so no fouling. The clamps are fiddly . Do you think I could modify the outbard clamps to make quick release like those quick used for woodworking etc . Thank you.

I dont think I could but do you think you could?

Be sure to attach a safety lanyard in case they do not withstand vibration.

You could use a British Seagull outboard bracket with two mounting plates.
