Can a Lavac Zenith be used with an electric pump such as the gulper? We want to go electric and the Gulper is a perfect toilet pump as shown in that recent video. I think the Lavac is unique in that the pump pulling the waste out creates a vacuum to suck the sea water in?

As far as I am aware it should work. I am pretty sure that when I bought my Zenith there was an electric option. Whether there are any issues with the amount of suction and throughput I can't help. Certainly the pumping out of the waste sucks in the "clean" seawater. This is why you can't open the lid for a while after pumping out.

Don't know about the gulper specifically, but lavacs used to be offered with an electric pump.

just checked and they still are, although their offering looks a bit chunkier than a gulper.

Why go electric at all?My Lavac only requires a few strokes of the handle to work.An electric conversion will be expensive for very little benefit.IMHO,of course.

Speak to M Punter at Leesan who sell all the parts for lavac heads. I have one with either manual or electric operation. It has two pumps in line.

Force 4 at Deacons were selling one [A Lavac heads] off the other day

I fitted an electric Lavac several years ago and the pump supplied was a Jabsco waste pump which looks roughly similar to the Whale.

The reason I chose to "go electric" was that I did not have space for a manual pump in the heads compartment and the electric pump can be located remotely. It also allowed me to add a couple of two-way valves so that I can use the pump to empty the holding tank when at sea.
