Another question for Croatia experts:

Tomorrow I will cruise from Rogoznica to Zadar to meet my guests there. Kornati islands are on my way and I want to sail through them in order to get an idea of the archipelago. Should I need to buy a national park ticket to sail through them without stopping? Or do we need a ticket only if we overnight there?

Others will have a difinitive answer.

We ( well Mapism!) got done on a 10 min swim stop. They have no power to stop you and no power to do you unless at anchor.

I am sure the real answer is you need a permit but in practical terms if you don’t stop I can’t see you being done.

Just don’t stop for a swim! If you do don’t put the anchor down !

I can confirm what jrudge said, with the caveat that the experience he's referring to is related to 2018.
Not that I would expect them to be more welcoming now, particularly in the Kornati area, but I recently heard that the Croatians reviewed some general boating rules this year.
This is the official park website - you might check it out for recent changes, if any.

All I can find is that you have to pay in case of anchoring. Up to now there was the unwritten law, that you haven´t need to pay if you were mooring at the restaurants pontoon. But this should be different now and is new in 2019. Perhaps thats the point MapisM wrote... At some restaurants you can by a reduced price ticket ( Konoba Quattro, Konoba Jadra, Konoba Žakan, Konoba Levrnaka, Lounge bar Core, Konoba Opat, Konoba Piccolo, Konoba Beban, Konoba Smokvica, Konoba Ante, Izletište Statival, Konoba Šoleta und Konoba Suha punta), and the length of stay with this ticket is 12 hours, I think. I can recommend to by a 3 day ticket and enjoy the beautiful nature of the cornati islands. It´s much cheaper to by the ticket outside the park. There are some selling points outside the park and the tickets there are much cheaper. Please recognize that there is a speed limit inside the park.
We like the Island of Katina with the restaurant MARE und Ravni Zakan with the same named restaurant very much...Last year the restaurant Quattro was praised a lot..

Thank you for all your information. I will be going in there very soon. I will inform later on.

Hi again!

I sailed through the Kornatis. All went fine. I had a good idea of what Kornatis are. I will decide accordingly to stay there on my return route or not.

Kornatis are, well, um, interesting.. Unique.. I am glad that I've been there and I saw there, but for me it won't be more than one nights.

By the way, there are 2 entry/exits on the northern side of Kornati National Park. Both are very close to each other. Anyone comes here, please use the one on the north. The south one is very shallow, I was almost touching the bottom.

Now we will enjoy the evening at Konoba Festa at Zut Island.

Thanks all for the assistance.

Been through the Kornati a few times and never paid for the park permit as never stopped but no problem weaving between the islands.

Hi Eren,
did you made a reservation at the Konoba Festa and how was it there. I want to visit Zut in 1 or 2 weeks...
Kurt

Hi Kurt,

Yes I did reservation and I can say that for this time of the season it is a must. Festa is a very nice restaurant, with a proper quay, a nice seaside bar, inflatable game park for children, etc. A full course dinner costs around EUR 80 pp including wine. Get there rather early (noon) to spend the day there and enjoy the facilities.
