The one holding my prop shaft to the connector to be precise!!
I guess the answer is no but worth a try. I have tried to locate locally but without success (Sardinia)
It measures 8mm x 53 though I would have expected an imperial size on my old boat.
I was hoping to complete my PSS seal fitting before coming home for the winter. Fitted the seal without major problem but will have to undo it all to slide the connector back on and fit the pin. With the old lip seal I could have just slide the shaft through the seal of course...... The best laid plans!! Before any asks the roll pin has to be fitted with the shaft slide back as it is under a beam!

Anyway the quick question again.......is it safe to reuse a roll pin??
Thanks all

I can't see why not, as long as it still needs a good shove to get it into place. Things which only deform elastically (and spring back) are fine to re-use; think which deform plastically (so come out a different shape) aren't. I think roll pins are elastic.

I agree, no reason why not so long as in good condition and has the 'springiness' to be an interference fit in its hole. I think they are hard rolled, like a clock spring, to give good elasticity. Heating to red heat would destroy the strength and elasticity but not much else would.

Used to wire lock them in gearboxes, can you do that? I have re used worn ones (oil pump drive) by turning them round and putting back in if I didn't have a new one to hand, never had one come out.
