Quick! HELP! Mariner question!

I need to replace an impeller in a mariner 4 engine today! quick!

Anyone have any information on how to do this?! Or even just a vague idea of where it goes (top or bottom!)


Need to get on the water quick!

post deleted - your outboard has a F/N/R so will be different

It'll be at the bottom. If the engine has F, N, R gears then it'll be on top of the gear box (Some small engines without gears or neutral have it behind the prop)

You've got to read the manual Small "Jonnyrudes" for example are nothing like that. What is more with the longshaft versions if you break the wrong joint (between gearbox and extension rather than between extension and leg) the key holding the impeller onto the shaft smashes the top of the waterpump. That's Jonnyrudes but they are all different. Tear into it without a manual and you may be lucky (I was ) but you may damage something.
