Question to those who have a bank account in Turkey

Question to others who like me have been using e-deposits (time deposits) with a Turkish bank (HSBC in my case).

I kept my time deposits as GBP and then EUR for many years. When I logged on to my account in December las year to have a look I noticed that my time deposit had been moved into TRY in April.

Has this happened to anyone else?

We have money in an HSBC euro account but not on a time deposit. It has been sitting there for a couple of years. I imagine a time deposit has an account specified that it reverts to at the end of the time, and where interest is paid. The euro, pound and dollar accounts are all set up as offshoots of the Tlira current account so it would seem logical for it to be paid into that (assuming the times had expired).

My EUR time deposit was on monthly automatic rollover (renewal), and the thing is that even if the rollover would have failed it should have stayed as EUR.
