Is it acceptable to wire new circuits, one for chart plotter, one for horn and one for the inverter, direct to the battery terminals with a suitable in line fuse?
I am sure it would be better coming off the 12V panel but there are no spare ways.
Any advice gratefully recieved. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
PS I will probably end up pay someone to do this, if I can find someone!
Cheers

It sounds as if you might be better off with a subsidiary extra panel with modern RCBs and switches/lights, so that you have better control and electrical safety management of the accessories. Are you planning for, or can you think of any other bits you might add in the future - it would be annoying to put in a small panel when a larger one would save money in the long run.

Electrical kit patched on to battery terminals is a bit sloppy (IMHO /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) and does not inspire confidence when, as a third party, you look at such a birds' nest.

If you do it properly you won't regret it.
If you don't, you might have to !

Sort of what I was thinking, at the moment I have one circuit straight to the battery and any more would start to look messy!
Also, don't want a fire on board!

Been looking at various options and I think I'll put in an extra 12V dist panel fitted with circuit breakers.
Gotta be a better job!
Cheers

Speak to Anthony at Mwack marine in Bridgwater, think I gave you his number some time ago. He knows what he's doing and will sort you out. He also posts here on ybw.
