question of ownership re Peters

I completed the purchase of second hand boat through Peters a few weeks ago paying the money into their Client account. I have a bill of sale and possesion.

If they did not pass on the money what is the situation?

Any thoughts?

They are agents for the vendor; the vendors have a claim against them if the money is not passed on. I assume the vendors signed the Bill of Sale? They are not your agents.
