.....or anyone else who may know!

Before my 290 leg was serviced it would trim to -4 or 5 on the guage. However, since being serviced it will only trim to 0. Is it possible some adjustment has been made during the service so that 0 now equals -4 or 5. Or is it something more sinister?

Hmm, not lots to go on. Does the leg move the full travel of the trim. If it trims from full out to fully in then its, as already said, the trim sender.
I would be asking whoever serviced it to put it right as its clearly their fault its not working properly.......I pressume. What year is your 290 drive?

It's an '89 model. I know it trims right out, and from the wake I think it's trimming right in. I'll speak to the guy who serviced it tomorrow and see what he has to say. Cheers.

Barry,

Spoke to the man today and he believes it's the sender unit. He said this is a plastic thingy under the steering helmet (?) and is easy to sort. I hope he's right. Thanks.

It is easy to adjust. The early 290's had a sort of rack and pinion on the helmet. It should have been indexed properly when the helmet was reinstalled. A common mistake often made. I hope your man is putting this right FOC as it seems to be the fitters mistake/fault when carrying out your service.
