Does anyone have any information regarding these yachts? Designed by A.K.Balfour & built late 60's. What is the difference between a Queen & a Honey Bee? I understand that these were probably the last production wooden boats. Mine built by Dixon Kerly, Maldon, were others built here or as has been suggested hulls built in Spain and shipped over for fitting out etc . Any info much appreciated.Any other owners out there?

honey bee 27'6" and very similar to Twister. Also sold in Scotland by City centre boatyard Glasgow but dont know who built them.

Queen bee about 30' and similar to a Rustler if my memory serves.

both were part built in Spain and imported along with East Anglians by Dickie Richardson who owned Dixon Kerly Ltd at the time. I remember a Queen Bee used as a sailing school boat out of Maldon in all weathers.

if you own one watch out for brass screws in the garboards and hood ends, will be getting very carroty by now.
