List published officially today shows as follows:

British Waterways
No longer a Public Corporation - Abolish as a public corporation in England and Wales and create a new waterways charity – similar to a National Trust for the waterways

Environment Agency
Retain and substantially reform - Reform through structural, process and cultural change to become a more efficient and customer focused organisation; and clarify accountabilities. Further announcements after the spending review. The Environment Agency in Wales may move to form part of a WAG Environmental Body.

Bit of drift,heard on R4 that CAB will be given many of the duties currently carried out some of the Quangos.
Now,not sure if anyone has recently been ( ever) ? to your local CAB office,but the poor (volunteer )buggers are just about keeping their heads above the constant onslaught of poor sods who desparately need help,let alone take on further duties especially against some of those big corporations with armies of £500 pound an hour lawyers.
