In a fixed wing aircraft if the engine stops you can glide to earth for an emergency landing.

In a rotary wing aircraft if the engine stops you can autorotate and perform an emergency landing.

If a jetpack 'engine' stops you go splat.

I was thinking exactly the same until the parachute opened. Still, not a very safe toy.
