QHM Portsmouth LNTM and Navwarn emails

I couldn't see this in a search so worth a post just in case nobody knows. If you've subscribed to the mailing list for LNTM and Navwarn for Portsmouth you won't be receiving them any more as they are not being sent out! you can still find them at http://www.qhm.mod.uk/portsmouth/ but they won't mail them to you at the moment.
Cheers
Dave

Try a google search on the e mail address that you used to receive QHM's LNTMs, you may well find that it will find it plus your password.

I've not checked them since then so was oblivious :) Wasn't aware the server was hacked either, thanks.

"Dear Subscriber

I am sorry to inform you of a website attack on wvvw.QHM.mod.uk that took place in the early hours of Tuesday Nov 6, during which a database of email addresses and passwords were compromised.

We are working hard to remedy the vulnerability and advise all subscribers to the Queen’s Harbour Master website to take the precautionary step of changing their password. It is also recommended that passwords are changed for all other online services which you may have associated with this email address – especially if the same password is in use.

As with any email address made available on the Internet, there may now be an increased likelihood of phishing* or spam email being sent to your address. Users are advised not to open email attachments or click on links in emails from senders that you do not recognise or are not expecting.

It is regrettable that this has happened and I hope you will accept my profound apology for this inconvenience and intrusion. The use of an automated method to send emails has been suspended; you are advised to monitor the website for marine information.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact Portsmouth at qhm.mod.uk and we will provide further guidance.

Regards Webmaster

*Phishing is the act of attempting to acquire information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details (and sometimes, indirectly, money) by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.

The entire list of email addresses, usernames and passwords has been put up on the internet by the hackers.
